October 1, 2015, 6:36 pm PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – It’s tough to walk the course at the Web.com Tour Championship without running into a Thompson. Curtis, the youngest sibling from the Florida golfing family, is in search of his PGA Tour card after completing his rookie season on the developmental circuit. So too is […]
February 5, 2015, 9:11 pm SAN DIEGO – In the ongoing sibling rivalry between Lexi and Nicholas Thompson, Thursday’s bout easily went to the older brother. Nicholas scorched the North Course at Torrey Pines on his way to an 8-under 64 for a commanding early lead at the Farmers Insurance Open; while Lexi was tied […]
Thompson – the one in first place – is in search of his first PGA Tour win and got off to a fast start. Most of the players on the first page of the leaderboard began with the easier North Course, including Koepka who is looking to win on Tour in back-to-back weeks.
Nicholas Thompson is one of the new additions to the Adams Golf PGA Tour team. His 2014 season started at the Sony Open in Hawaii in early January. Never one to give in inch — or a tap-in putt — the Thompson brood of brothers Nicholas and Curtis, now 30 and 20, respectively, and sister, Lexi, 18, found their best competition right at the Coral Springs home of Scott and Judy Thompson, spending days on end competing in chipping contests, putting matches and countless rounds of golf.
Nicholas Thompson qualifies for the 2013 U.S. Open Championship at Merion Golf Club. His rounds of 68-66 in Columbus, Ohio on Monday June 3rd was good enough to gain one of 15 spots at this US Open Sectional Qualifier following the Memorial Tournament.
FORT WORTH, Texas — FORT WORTH, Texas — Nicholas Thompson will be part of a charitable effort by PGA TOUR pros donating money to the Red Cross relief fund this week. Thompson, Justin Bolli, Casey Wittenberg, Stuart Appleby and John Peterson each plan to donate $100 for every birdie and $500 for every eagle each player posts during this week’s Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. Their donations will go to the American Red Cross of Oklahoma relief effort. The program is called #MooreBirdiesandEagles.
There’s nothing better than trying something ridiculously stupid and pulling it off to perfection, is there? In the third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Nicholas Thompson found his ball on the edge of the water, and instead of taking a drop, he stripped off his shoes, waded in, and … boom.
There’s only been one eagle so far today on the drivable par-4 15th hole (also this week’s Kodak Challenge hole) and it came courtesy of Nicholas Thompson (video below). Right now, the hole ranks as the seventh most-difficult on the course, which is easily the hardest it’s played all week.
